To be honest, we’ve always reused the boxes that our fruit came back from the market in, because as a small business it just makes financial sense not to purchase another packaging item. It’s cheaper for us and means we don't have to pass any additional costs on to you. 

For a while we aspired to deliver fruit to our clients in new, fresh-off-the-press boxes branded with our logo, because that looks more professional, right? However, since beginning this transformative business journey, we can already see that reusing a resource for the maximum amount of times possible is the goal to shoot for when it comes to sustainability.

Producing those new boxes creates a carbon load, the recycling process consumes energy and additional resources, has a substantial carbon footprint, and degrades the cardboard with each cycle until it is no longer usable, and ending up in landfill is the worst outcome in all cases.

The dream is to collect our emptied boxes back from you each week when we make your next delivery, and keep them in circulation even longer!! This would keep waste out of your stream, keep us stocked up with a very precious resource, and be a small action that helps us all hit our sustainability goals.
